Accra, April 16, GNA - The Ghana Cricket team are expected to leave for South Africa on Tuesday, April 20 to participate in the ICC-ACA, Africa-World Division II tournament.
The event will take place from Saturday, April 24 to Thursday, April 29, 2010.
Albert Papa Asante, Secretary General of the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) told GNA Sports that a 19-member contingent made up of 14 players and officials will represent the country.
The players are Peter Amanya (captain), James Kwaku Vifah, Obed Harvey Agbomodazie, Rufus Kweku Ntiamoah, Kofi Baganena, Moses Anafie, Abdul Karim Sumaila and Simon Ateak.
The rest are Isaac K.O. Aboagye, Matthew Bawa, Mark Bawa, Julius Horlali Mensah, Lawrence Ateak and Samson K.A. Awiah.
Asante said the officials to accompany the team are Prince Daniel Vanderpuye-OrgleBen, Ben Nuuno-Mensah, Albert Papa Asante, Emmanuel Owusu Ansah Asare and Bhupinder Singh Brar (Head Coach).
Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Sierra Leone and Gambia are the other participants at the five-day tournament.
The team is expected to return on Friday, April 30, 2010.
