Black Stars goalkeeper William Amamoo has moved to raise funds for former Ghana international Ibrahim Dossey who is bed-ridden in Romania.
The Egypt-based safest pair of hands made a US$10,000 to Dossey last month, after the latter was involved in a frightening car accident in September.
Amamoo has decided to raise more than US$15,000, through his Black Panther Foundation, to transfer him to another hospital in Europe.
“After my league match on Friday, I have asked permission from my club, and I will be in London to see if some persons can help," Amamoo told Ghanasoccernet.com
“Even before the funds start coming in, I'm the first to put 5,000 dollars in the special account.
“Everybody has deserted him, and his wife keeps complaining to me. I have written to some friends, and they have promised to assist me," he added.
“He can now breathe without the support of a machine, and he needs to be moved to another hospital."
On Tuesday, Romanian Football Federation President, Mircea Sandu, donated 2,000 euros to his family in Romania. Dossey celebrated his 37th birthday on Monday on his sick bed at the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest. The public can send email to [email protected] if they want to assist.
