Former Ghana coach Otto Addo has lodged a complaint with FIFA against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over the termination of his contract in March 2026.

According to Joy Sports, Addo is demanding more than $750,000 in compensation, arguing that the GFA unilaterally terminated his contract before its expiration.

The report indicates that the former Borussia Dortmund coach made several attempts to secure payment from the GFA but failed to reach an agreement, prompting him to escalate the matter to FIFA.

Addo was earning a monthly salary of $50,000 after signing a 34-month contract with the GFA in March 2024. He was appointed to replace Chris Hughton, who was dismissed following Ghana's group-stage elimination at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The 50-year-old had 10 months remaining on his contract when the GFA ended his tenure following the Black Stars' friendly defeat to Germany in March 2026.

Although details of any financial settlement reached between the two parties at the time of his dismissal remain unclear, Addo is seeking compensation for the outstanding period of his agreement, with his claim reportedly exceeding $750,000.

His departure came just months before the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, where Ghana were preparing for their fifth appearance at the tournament.
