Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko says his side are preparing well for a difficult test against FC Samartex as the Ghana Premier League leaders seek to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
The defending champions travel to DUN’s Park for their matchday seven fixture on Saturday, with a three-point lead over their opponents in the title race.
Medeama have collected 14 points from their opening six matches to sit top of the table, while Samartex occupy third place on 11 points and will be hoping to close the gap with a victory.
Tanko believes Medeama’s unbeaten run will make them a target for other teams but insists his players are ready for the challenge.
“We just had six games and we didn’t lose a game, so definitely we are one of the teams that everyone would like to beat,” he said.
The Medeama coach also acknowledged the difficulty of playing at DUN’s Park and praised Samartex’s quality ahead of the encounter.
“We are preparing very well. We know the venue we are going to is very tough to play at. They have a very good team with a very good coach behind them,” Tanko added.
Medeama will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run and strengthen their position at the summit, while Samartex will see the fixture as an opportunity to move closer to the league leaders.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 GMT.
