The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, says it was difficult for him to watch the Black Stars suffer a shock defeat by The Gambia in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Ghana have endured a disappointing start to their qualifying campaign, losing their opening two matches without collecting a point.
The Black Stars began with a 2-0 defeat by Ivory Coast in Bouake before surrendering a two-goal lead to lose 4-2 against The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The back-to-back defeats have left Ghana bottom of Group C, raising concerns about their chances of qualifying for the tournament in East Africa.
The poor start also led to the departure of head coach Carlos Queiroz, who left his position following the team's disappointing results.
Reflecting on Ghana's defeat by The Gambia, Adams admitted that the result had been difficult to accept.
"I must admit that nobody would want to be in my situation when the Black Stars played against The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium," he said on Asempa FM.
"It was difficult to watch the team lose. I could not believe what happened, but I am convinced the team will qualify for the AFCON tournament," he added.
Ghana will attempt to revive their qualifying campaign next month when they face Somalia in their third and fourth matches of the qualifiers.
The two matches are scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the Black Stars set to be guided by an interim technical team announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.
