Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) chairman Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has called on Kurt Okraku to resign as president of the country's football governing body following the Black Stars' poor start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Mr Okraku has come under increasing pressure after Ghana suffered defeats in their opening two Group C matches.
The Black Stars began their campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Ivory Coast before surrendering a two-goal lead to lose 4-2 to The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two defeats have left Ghana without a point at the bottom of Group C after two matches.
Speaking to Citi FM, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe urged Mr Okraku to embrace what he described as a "culture of resignation" if he believes he has failed in his role.
“If he feels that he [Kurt Okraku] has failed and he has the culture of resignation, then nobody will tell him he will resign by himself, as I did when I was there,” he said.
“If he is not coming up with good results, that’s why I use the word culture of resignation; there are certain things you don’t force on people.
“Either you do it, and then one will know exactly that this man is principled… he should just quit as others have done in the past,” Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe added.
Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe is known for resigning from his position as GFA chairman, after which Kwesi Nyantakyi succeeded him.
Ghana will return to action in November with a double-header against Somalia as they seek to revive their qualification campaign.
The Black Stars are also aiming to return to the AFCON after missing the 2025 tournament in Morocco.
