We will prepare and win the next games – Carlos Queiroz

Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz says the Black Stars must be “better prepared” and “better organised” after suffering their second straight defeat in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars threw away a two-goal lead to lose 4-2 to The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

The defeat leaves Ghana without a point from their opening two Group C matches.

Ghana had hoped to recover from their 2-0 loss to Côte d’Ivoire in their opening qualifier in Bouaké last Thursday.

The Black Stars took control of the game by going 2-0 ahead, but they struggled in the second half as The Gambia fought back to take all three points.

Queiroz rejected the idea that the defeat was a step backwards for his team. He said Ghana must focus on improving and winning their next matches.

“We cannot say it is a step back. What we can do is to be better prepared, better organised for the next games and win the next games. This is what we have to get done,” he said after the game.
