The Association of Amateur Football Clubs of Cameroon (ACFAC) has called for an investigation into the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and its president, Samuel Eto'o, following reports of alleged financial misconduct.
ACFAC claims Eto'o improperly received funds linked to an international friendly between Cameroon and Russia played in October 2023.
According to the association, the Russian Football Union breached the terms of its agreement with Fecafoot by transferring approximately €567,000 (£654,000) into a bank account that allegedly did not belong to the Cameroonian football governing body.
In a statement, ACFAC said it plans to pursue legal action against the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker in Cameroonian courts.
The organisation also intends to file a separate complaint in Russia against the Russian Football Union over the disputed payment.
The latest allegations add to the scrutiny surrounding Eto'o's leadership of Fecafoot since he took office in 2021.
Last month, the 45-year-old publicly backed FIFA president Gianni Infantino, insisting he "hasn't done anything wrong" despite growing criticism over a controversial proposal involving the sale of World Cup-related rights.
Neither Eto'o nor Fecafoot had publicly responded to ACFAC's latest claims at the time of writing.
