Black Star Experience Secretariat Completes 7‑Region Tour Ahead of National Choral Contest

The Black Star Experience Secretariat, Office of the President, has wrapped up a nationwide sensitization tour across seven regions in preparation for the Black Star National Choral Music Contest scheduled for September 2026.

The outreach covered the Western, Central, Eastern, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions. The delegation was led by Madam Elizabeth Dzifa Agbetepey, Deputy Assistant at the Secretariat, representing the Coordinator, Mr. Rex Owusu Marfo (Rex Omar), together with Mr. Faisal Kada, Technical Aide. Their mission was to brief Regional Ministers, Members of Parliament, MCEs and DCEs on the upcoming contest.

The engagements focused on mobilizing creatives, cultural practitioners and tourism stakeholders; strengthening collaboration among MMDAs, traditional authorities and educational institutions; and formally announcing the national contest.

Madam Agbetepey described the initiative as a flagship programme of the Office of the President aimed at discovering fresh choral talent nationwide and elevating Ghana’s choral music tradition. She emphasized that music is one of the seven pillars of the Black Star Experience.

“This is a signature programme of the Black Star Experience Secretariat, Office of the President. It is designed to discover another Winneba Youth Choir. The contest will begin at the regional level and progress to the national stage, where winners will be selected. It is also to give choral music an uplift. Black Star Experience is made up of seven pillars, and music is one of them,” she noted.

Following the sensitization tour, the Secretariat has scheduled official launch events for this month, with the Western Region launch set for 22nd September 2026 and the Central Region launch on 2nd October 2026.
