Ghana defender Alexandra Tay says the Black Princesses are relishing the challenge of facing France in their decisive final Group C match at the U-20 Women's World Cup.

The two sides meet at the Arena Sosnowiec on Saturday, with kick-off at 16:00 GMT.

Ghana must win to reach the knockout stage for the first time in the history of the competition.

"France are a very strong team, so we're excited to face them," Tay told FIFA after their win over Korea Reoublic.

"You're always excited to face a strong opponent, so we'll go back and prepare for that."

The Black Princesses began their campaign with a 3-0 defeat by Ecuador before responding with a 3-1 victory over South Korea.

That result leaves Ghana needing another win against France to keep their hopes of reaching the last 16 alive.

Ghana have appeared at every edition of the U-20 Women's World Cup since 2008 but have never progressed beyond the group stage.

They will be hoping to end that run against France and make history by reaching the knockout phase for the first time.
