Nations FC defender Dennis Korsah believes his side has what it takes to overturn their first-leg defeat to FC Diarra and keep their CAF Confederation Cup campaign alive.

The Ghanaian side lost 1-0 to the Malian club in the preliminary-round first leg, marking Nations FC's historic debut on the continental stage.

Despite the setback, the experienced defender said the result did not reflect his team's performance, and he remains optimistic ahead of the return fixture.

"We could have done better, maybe get a point, but then football happened, so we just have to correct our mistakes and then try to do much better back home and qualify for the next round," the former Hearts of Oak right-back told the club's media team after the match.

Korsah also described the occasion as a valuable learning experience, particularly for the club's younger players making their first taste of continental competition.

"It's good playing in this kind of competition. It's an opportunity for some of the new guys. The feeling was good, but as you all know, the result wasn't what we expected," he added.

Nations FC will host FC Diarra in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 13 September.

The Ghanaian club must win by at least two goals to book a place in the next round of the competition.
