KOFI JANTUAH, 33, a Ghanaian Welterweight based in Las Vegas, USA, is scheduled to mount the ring with Leohan Simon in an IBF/Continental title clash in Hamburg, Germany on February 27, 2008.
Jantuah, a former Commonwealth Welterweight Champion, disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
In an exclusive interview with DAILY GUIDE SPORTS, he promised a convincing win in the match.
Jantuah, who is currently in the country for a short holiday, said he had adequately prepared for the clash and was convinced that victory would be his come the D-day.
Earlier, the Asantehene had praised Jantuah for his boxing artistry, which had etched the name of the Ashanti Region and Ghana as a whole on the international boxing map.
That withstanding, Otumfuo charged Jantuah to intensify his training and win a world title for the country.
“I need a world title from you to crown all your achievements so far,” the Asantehene said.
