2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup: Quarterfinals pairings confirmed

The conquerors of South African sides in the African Confederation Cup will clash against each other in the quarterfinals after being paired in the draw for the last eight on Tuesday.

Al Masry of Egypt, who edged Kaizer Chiefs on goal difference for a berth in the knockout stages, were pitted against Algeria’s Chabab Belouizdad, who beat Stellenbosch both home and away on their way to winning their group.

Belouizdad are coached by Sead Ramovic, previously in charge at TS Galaxy.

Stellenbosch finished last in their group with second place going to Congo’s Otoho d’Oyo, who are through to the last eight for the first time in seven attempts and were drawn to face Zamalek, who finished top of Chiefs’ group after beating AmaKhosi 2-1 in Cairo on Saturday.

Zamalek are two-time winners of the competition in 2019 and two years ago.

There is an all-Moroccan clash in the other quarterfinal ties with newcomers Olympique Safi up against Wydad Casablanca while USM Alger, who won the Confederation Cup in 2023, take on Maniema Union from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

• Maniema Union (DR Congo) v USM Alger (Algeria)

The team mentioned first plays at home in the first leg on Sunday, 15 March, with the return leg on 22 March.

Semifinals

• Maniema Union or USM Alger v Olympique Safi or Wydad Casablanca
• Al Masry or Chabab Belouizdad v Otoho d’Oyo or Zamalek

Winner of the first tie mentioned plays at home in the first leg on 12 April, with the return leg on 19 April.

The winner of the semifinal tie 1 plays home in the first leg of the final on 9 May, with the return on 16 May.
