A member of Asante Kotoko Supporters' Communication Team, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, has been stabbed to death by unknown men during their Ghana Premier League against Nsoatreman FC on Sunday at Nsoatre.
The Porcupine Warriors were hosted at the Nana Kronmansah Park in the Matchday 19 games.
According to an official statement from Asante Kotoko, Nana Pooley was stabbed by unknown men during an altercation during the second half of the game.
The deceased supporter was rushed to the Sunyani Regional Hospital but was confirmed dead upon arrival after sustaining multiple injuries to the chest.
However, Asante Kotoko has strongly condemned the violent incidents that marred the game against the defending FA Cup champions.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko lost the game by 1-0 but the game witnessed chaotic scenes as players from both sides clashed, leading to the referee issuing four red cards.
The situation spiraled out of control after the final whistle, resulting in violent confrontations between fans.
