Ghana is set to face its West African rival Nigeria in the second round of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 qualifiers this December.
The matchup was determined during a draw held at CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, on October 9, 2024. The Black Galaxies will host the first leg of the tie from December 20 to 22, 2024, while the return leg will take place in Nigeria between December 27 and 29, 2024.
In the previous edition of the CHAN tournament in Algeria, Ghana eliminated Nigeria by winning a penalty shootout after the teams ended with a 2-2 aggregate score.
The winner of this two-legged contest will secure a spot in the CHAN 2024, scheduled to take place next year in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The longstanding rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria promises an exciting clash in this highly anticipated matchup.
