Newly signed Barcelona defender David Oduro has expressed his admiration for his soon-to-be teammate, Alejandro Balde.
The young Ghanaian talent joined the Spanish giants this summer on a three-year contract from Accra Lions, a club in the Ghana Premier League.
Oduro was officially unveiled on Tuesday after completing a successful trial with the team.
In an interview with Sporty TV, the 18-year-old shared his excitement about the move and his aspirations for his time in Spain.
"My role model is Alejandro Balde. I look up to him because there are a few things I want to learn from him," Oduro said.
"Hopefully, if all goes well, I will compete with him. It would be an incredible experience because I've watched him play for a long time. I really admire him, so it will be a special moment for me."
Oduro is one of two Ghanaians to join Barcelona this season, alongside Abdul Aziz Issah, who arrives on loan from Dreams FC. Both players will begin their journey with Barcelona's reserve team, Barça Athletic.
