Dreams Football Club has secured a massive 8-1 victory over Real Tamale United (RTU) to move to safety in the Ghana Premier League table.
The Dawu-based club is now formally out of the relegation battle and will not drop into the Division One League regardless of the result of the team’s final league match of the season against Aduana Stars.
The encounter between Dreams FC and RTU was played on Wednesday, June 12, at the Theatre of Dreams.
Just four minutes into the first half, Lord Adabo equalized to shoot RTU into the lead.
Three minutes later, Agyenim Boateng Mensah registered his first goal of the game to restore parity for Dreams FC.
Subsequently, a strike by Benjamin Bature gave the hosts a 2-1 lead before two additional goals from Agyenim Boateng Mensah before the break extended the lead for the side.
With two additional goals from Agyenim Boateng Mensah, he finished the match with five goals as Dreams FC cruised to a heavy 8-1 win over RTU.
The victory takes Dreams FC to 11th on the Ghana Premier League table with 45 points.
That means that regardless of the result of the team’s final league match of the season, the side cannot be relegated.
