Moses Foh-Amoaning reveals why Ghana football was successful under Kwesi Nyantakyi

Lawyer Moses Foh Amoaning attributes Ghana's successful football tenure under Kwesi Nyantakyi to a robust spiritual foundation.

Nyantakyi, the former president of the Ghana Football Association, led the nation to three consecutive World Cup tournaments from 2006 to 2014, and Foh Amoaning contends that this success was not coincidental but a result of a comprehensive approach.

Despite facing criticism, Foh Amoaning praises Nyantakyi as a receptive leader who balanced both spiritual and physical aspects.

He highlights instances where Nyantakyi sought spiritual guidance, such as making offerings at churches before matches, and underscores the impact it had on Ghana's victories in World Cup qualifiers.

“The 6-1 we scored against Egypt was not just by chance. One of the defining characteristics of Kwesi Nyantakyi was his open-mindedness. He valued both the spiritual and physical aspects more than people realized,” Foh Amoaning shared with Happy FM.

Foh Amoaning reveals that Nyantakyi would occasionally seek his assistance in making offerings at churches to seek divine intervention before matches, yielding positive results.

He cites examples like Ghana's 2-0 victory over Mali, where Nyantakyi, having forgotten about the offering, urgently requested Foh Amoaning's help.

“I went to Royal House and Apostle General Sam Korankye Ankrah knelt on his garment and prayed into the game. The late coach Addy is a witness to this, the entire fans at the Mali stadium were in white and yet we managed to beat them 2-0. I can give countless examples.

He added, “So if you see Kwesi Nyantakyi successful during his reign it was because he took care not only of the physical but also the spiritual.”

Nyantakyi served as the president of the Ghana Football Association from December 30, 2005, until June 7, 2018, when he officially resigned following the Anas Aremeyaw Anas Number 12 documentary that exposed corruption within the GFA.
