The Ghana U23 national team put up a disappointing display against the Morocco U23 national team on Tuesday night.
At the end of an action-packed encounter, Morocco whipped Ghana 5-1 to secure all three points.
The first half of the Group A clash staged at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat today ended with the host nation taking a 3-1 lead.
The hosts only needed seven minutes to open the scoring in a game that the defense of Ghana appeared to be nonexistent.
After recess, the Ghana U23 national team nicknamed the Black Meteors attempted to get something out of the match but had no chance of upsetting Morocco.
The hosts instead scored two more goals to delightfully beat Ghana 5-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.
While Morocco qualifies for the semi-finals of the 2023 U23 AFCON, Ghana must wait until the end of the group games.
The Black Meteors have no option but to beat Guinea on Friday to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament and keep the dream of qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games alive.
