Former Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has expressed optimism about Nigeria’s chances of beating Ghana to secure the ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In an interview with Accra-based Angel FM on Monday evening, the German tactician said although Ghana has a good team, he foresees Nigeria winning 2-1 at the end of the crucial clash on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
“Ghana have players for counterattacks, so if they want to qualify they must use that and make sure they don't concede
“Nigerians missing Iwobi is not good, he is very good at giving incisive passes
“I will tip Nigeria to win 2-1,” Gernot Rohr noted.
Ghana and Nigeria will lock horns tomorrow in the second leg of the playoff tie of the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
As a result of the goalless draw from the first leg meeting, any of the two national teams that wins tomorrow’s contest will secure qualification to this year’s mundial.
It should however be noted that a scoring draw puts Ghana through on the away goal rule.
The meeting between the Super Eagles and the Black Stars is scheduled to kick off at 17:00GMT at the Moshood Abiola National Sports Stadium in Abuja.
