Karela United on Sunday afternoon displayed impressive resilience as the team came from behind to beat Berekum Chelsea 2-1 in the Ghana Premier League.
The Anyinase-based club today hosted the matchday 3 opponent of the 2021/2022 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign at the Akoon Community Park.
In a game where Karela United had a slow start, Berekum Chelsea took advantage and scored through Bright Amponsah after just seven minutes into the first half to take a deserved lead.
Staying resolute in the remainder of the first half, the home team kept pushing and got rewarded after 30 minutes when midfielder Umar Bashiru scored with a fantastic effort.
With all to play for in the second half, a Darlington Gyan Fosu equalizer in the 50th minute gave Karela United a 2-1 lead as the team held on to amass the maximum three points at the end of the 90 minutes.
From the other grounds today, RTU beat WAFA SC 2-0, Hearts of Oak drew 1-1 with Aduana Stars while Bechem United also condemned Elmina Sharks to a 2-0 defeat.
