Ghana international Majeed Ashimeru has expressed his joy after scoring for RSC Anderlecht in the team’s 4-1 win against Royal Antwerp FC in the Belgian Pro League on Monday evening.
The attacking midfielder joined the side on loan from Red Bull Salzburg in the January window and has gradually become a key asset.
In a matchday 32 encounter of the 2020/2021 Belgian top-flight league season staged at the Bosuil Stadion, the former WAFA SC poster boy earned a starting role to help the visiting team chase the three available points.
On the back of a goalless scoreline at the end of the first half, Majeed Ashimeru opened the scoring for RSC Anderlecht in the 52nd minute with an assist from Lukas Nmecha to give his team the lead.
With the game eventually ending 4-1 for Majeed Ashimeru and his teammates, he has taken to his social media to commend the performance of the team.
“Great team performance on the road last night. Elated to be on the scoresheet. We keep pushing,” the attacker said in a post on Twitter.
Majeed Ashimeru continues to impress with sources revealing that Anderlecht could make a move to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of his loan stint.
