Young striker Sandra Owusu-Ansah netted a brace on Monday evening to give the Women’s senior national team of Ghana a 2-0 win over their counterpart from Morocco.
Nicknamed the Black Queens, the team faced off with the Atlas Lionesses at the Accra Sports Stadium for the second of a double-header friendly encounter being played to help the teams prepare for upcoming qualifying matches to the next AWCON tournament.
Having earned a starting role for play for the Ghana team today, striker Sandra Owusu-Ansah displayed impressive goal scoring form.
The forward opened the scoring for the Queens after just 10 minutes into the first half when she fired in a good strike.
Four minutes later, the former Black Princesses poster girl fired in her second to complete a brace while handing the Ghana team a deserved 2-goal lead.
Although the encounter that ensued from there on saw the Morocco team coming in strong, they could not alter the scoreline and have been forced to succumb to a 2-0 defeat at the end of the 90 minutes.
