Former Ashanti Gold SC defender, Yusif Mubarik has confirmed that Asante Kotoko has opened talks to secure his services ahead of the next football season.
The defender was a key member of the Miners team that competed in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
At the end of a season which could not be finished as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the 24-year old has parted ways with the Obuasi-based club upon the expiry of his contract.
Today, Mubarik Yusif has disclosed that he is being courted by Asante Kotoko in the ongoing transfer window.
“It's true that Kotoko has started talks with me. I got off the phone with one of Kotoko leaders a few hours ago”, the defender said in an interview with Oyerepa FM.
Aware of the numerous top defenders at the Porcupine Warriors club, Mubarik Yusif insists he is ready to compete for a place in the team coached by Maxwell Konadu.
“I'm no more under contract with AshantiGold SC and ready to join Asante Kotoko.
“I know the number of defenders at Kotoko but I am ready for the competition. I'm a player who likes competitions”, he noted.
