The Owner and Bankroller of Berekum Arsenal, Alhaji Yakubu Moro has charged clubs in the Division One League to reject the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Covid-19 Relief Fund.
In the midst of the Coronavirus crisis, CAF and FIFA have extending monetary support to Member Associations to help alleviate the financial crisis their subsidiaries will be going through.
With the GFA set to benefit $1.8 Million from the two football governing bodies, they have decided to give each club in the National Division One League a sum of $7,500.
Speaking to Ark FM on the share of the money the clubs in the lower division are set to receive, Alhaji Yakubu Moro has expressed his disappointment in the Ghana FA.
According to him, he feels the clubs in the Division One League are being cheated by the FA because every club [Premier League clubs inclusive] in his opinion should earn the same amount of money.
The Berekum Arsenal owner has therefore called on all other clubs in the lower division, especially those in Zone One to reject the money from the Ghana FA.
“I will advise all Zone one league clubs to reject the money, they should not take it. We want accurate account and breakdown because we are always taking for granted”.
This same position has been taken by the owner of New Edubiase Football Club, Abdul Salam Yakubu. He also feels the Division One League clubs deserve better.
