A popular Yoruba movie actress, Hassanat Akinwande Taiwo, popularly known as Yetunde Wunmi, has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for cocaine trafficking. Yetunde Wunmi, was arrested last Saturday night on her way to London. Investigations revealed that she was about to board a Virgin Atlantic plane at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, when NDLEA officials caught her.
She was said to have been injected to excrete the cocaine she swallowed. Yetunde Wunmi since then has excreted over 95 wraps of cocaine (condom-size).
After her excretion, Yetunde was taken to the Shaw Road, Ikoyi office of NDLEA to undergo interrogation. Though there is no word yet on the interrogation, Yetunde is still in custody. Sources say Yetunde is calling names and trying to cut a deal with the NDLEA for a light sentence. She insists this is her first time but considering the amount of cocaine she was carrying, investigators find it very unlikely. Her residence at Mudashiru Awe Street,Yaba, has been searched but no further incriminating evidence has been discovered.
