Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has stated that he prefers to be judged by his most recent performance rather than the awards he has won.
The actor shared this during an interview on the CreativiTea podcast.
Arukwe revealed that he is actually fearful of accolades because he does not want people to evaluate his talent based on trophies.
According to him, he wants his current work to speak for itself, noting that an actor is only as good as their last job.
The movie star stressed that his focus remains on staying consistent and delivering high-quality performances rather than chasing awards.
He said:
"But you know I’m also very scared of accolades because I don’t want you to measure me on awards or with awards or by awards. I want you to measure me by my last job."
