Gospel singer Tope Alabi has issued a formal cease-and-desist notice to Pastor Tayo Ministries over alleged defamatory publications and threats against her character.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, the singer attached a legal notice from her representatives, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, demanding an immediate retraction and the removal of all defaming posts, videos, and captions.
The legal document, dated October 24, 2026, addressed to the operators of the Facebook page "Pastor Tayo Ministries," refuted claims that Alabi had a hand in the deaths of several musicians, including the late gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known as Toluwanisings.
The lawyers described the allegations as malicious, false, and baseless, noting that the publications accuse their client of murder and ritual killing without any evidence, police findings, or court decision.
The notice demands that the page take down the posts within 24 hours and publish an unreserved retraction and apology.
According to the statement, failure to comply will result in legal action, including claims for damages, injunctive relief, and formal petitions to relevant authorities, regardless of the page operator's location.
Tope Alabi captioned the post with:
"To Pastor Tayo Ministries @tayokumuyi Please find attached a formal cease-and-desist notice from my legal representatives. You are hereby required to take down all defaming posts, videos, and captions and issue a retraction within 24 hours of receiving this notice. Failure to comply will leave me with no option but to pursue all appropriate legal remedies available, regardless of your location. @nigeriapoliceforce."
