Popular Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, better known as AY, has issued a public apology after the Cardiff stop of his AY Live: Single and Not Searching UK tour was thrown into chaos on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
The comedian was billed to perform at Valegate Retail Park, but attendees reported waiting for hours for a show that never started, eventually leaving the venue in frustration.
In a statement shared on his social media pages, AY addressed the disappointed fans directly. He explained that he and his fellow comedians travelled to Cardiff and eventually entered the venue, but unresolved payment commitments delayed their appearance.
According to him, by the time they arrived at the hall, most of the audience had already left. He acknowledged that the fans deserved a properly organised show and timely information, stressing that they should never have been caught in the middle of a payment dispute.
AY further called on the organisers and the UK tour management to provide a clear resolution for ticket holders, including refund information. He also confirmed that the remaining tour dates in Birmingham, London, and Manchester remain scheduled.
He wrote:
"To everyone who bought tickets and came out to see us in Cardiff, I sincerely apologise for the disappointment you experienced. Your time, money and support deserve respect."
