"There Are Four Types Of Luck" – Lawyer Stan Alieke

Popular Nigerian lawyer Stan Alieke has shared a breakdown of the four types of luck as propounded by psychologists.

In a post on his Instagram Story, he explained each type, starting with blind luck, which he described as being born into a wealthy home or winning a lottery, noting that one has no control or influence over it.

The Abuja-based lawyer also highlighted luck from awareness, which increases with more knowledge and experience, and luck from uniqueness, where possessing a special skill, reputation, or hobby attracts opportunities.

Alieke said his favourite is luck from motion, which comes from being consistent at whatever one does and always staying on the move. He noted that if one keeps at it, luck will eventually shine on them, quoting the saying that a moving man will one day meet his luck, for the road favours a traveller.

He wrote:
"There are four types of luck as propounded by psychologists- blind luck (eg, you were born into a wealthy home or winning a lottery. You literally have no control or influence over this kind of luck); Luck from awareness (as more knowledge and experience you have you get luckier); Luck from uniqueness (if you possess a special skill, reputation, hobbies, this uniqueness will attract opportunities to you); Luck from motion (this is my favorite- this luck comes from your being consistent at whatever you do, always on motion or on the move, if you keep doing it, luck will definitely shine on you someday. From this kind of luck, we have the saying that, 'a moving man will one day meet his luck, for the road favors a traveler'."
