"You Are That Friend"  – Lasisi Elenu Slams Nigerians Over Negative Stories

Nigerian comedian and content creator Nosa Afolabi, popularly known as Lasisi Elenu, has taken a swipe at Nigerians who always attribute negative stories to a "friend" instead of owning up to their own experiences.

In a candid video posted on his Instagram page, the comedian expressed disbelief at the pattern, noting that people never tell positive stories about others, yet all the bad, demonic, and satanic stories always happen to a mysterious friend.

Lasisi Elenu pointed out that whenever someone recounts a negative experience, it is always prefaced with "there's this friend of mine," but he believes that friend is actually the person telling the story.

He questioned why anyone would keep such friends, insisting that the storyteller and the so-called friend are one and the same.

He said:
"Nigerians will never cease to amaze me, because people who whenever they tell a bad or negative story always say it's their friend. You have never told a negative story that has to do with you. It's always a friend of yours, why? There's this friend of mine, anytime she goes to see this Alhaji, she comes back with, you are that friend, that friend is you, you is the friend. You met with the Alhaji, the Alhaji, shut up your mouth, there's a stretch mark on your lips, the pimple on your nose is disturbing my concentration, idiot. One of my guys like that, he gives him baby, so he can't tell the girl, let her do abortion.
