I Get Nervous Interviewing People Much Older Than Me – Isbae U

Content creator Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, popularly known as Isbae U, has revealed that his viral interview series, 'Curiosity Made Me Ask', was designed to reveal a side of celebrities that audiences have never seen before.

He made this disclosure this during an interview with Morayo Afolabi-Brown on The Morayo Show.

According to him, the concept behind the show is to bring out a different part of every celebrity he interviews. When asked if he gets scared while interviewing his guests, he admitted that he does, especially when the guest is much older than him.

Speaking on the idea behind the show, Bae U attributed it to watching 'Between Two Ferns' by Zach Galifianakis, which he loved and felt he could adapt.

Reminiscing on life before 'Curiosity Made Me Ask', he revealed that he was in a phase of self-discovery, having explored singing and rapping, and reached a point where he was determined to do something different from other skit makers.

He addressed the misconception that he has stopped creating other content, noting that he writes stories for people and helps them with their projects behind the scenes.

"The idea of Curiosity Made Me Ask is to show you another part of this celebrity you've not seen. Every time. Especially when it comes to people that are way older than me."

"I was just finding myself. I was in that process. Before that, I was singing; before that, rapping. I was just finding myself."

"There was a day I said to someone that I was done being mediocre, being average. I wanted to do something different. I didn't want to just be considered part of them, part of the skit makers, one of them."

"I saw a show that I used to watch a long time ago. It's called Between Two Ferns by Zach Galifianakis. So when I saw the show, I loved it. I thought, 'Oh, this is something I can do.' Even though the guy didn't even do it as much as I'm doing it now."

The Nigerian Voice recalls that the show has hosted notable figures including Pete Edochie, Patience Ozokwor, CharlyBoy and many celebrities from all walks of life.

The show gained more popularity following its latest interview with former President Olusegun Obasanjo released on Saturday, September 19, an episode that garnered millions of views.
