Popular Nigerian skitmaker and comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, better known as Sabinus, has lamented the growing menace of street urchins, commonly known as agberos, in Lagos.
The award-winning skitmaker made his feelings known while reposting a video on his X handle showing agberos causing chaos at Onikan Stadium.
Sabinus expressed frustration that whenever he speaks about what he described as the "agbero pandemic" in Lagos, people attack him instead of addressing the issue.
He expressed disappointment at seeing grown men and breadwinners making a mess of themselves, stating that he has washed his hands off the matter.
He wrote:
"If I dey talk about this agbero pandemic for Lagos, una go begin attack person. Just look at grown men and people's breadwinners making a mess of themselves. I don wash my hands for this matter."
The rise of street urchins better known as "agbero" in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria, especially the West, has been a source of concern for many. Celebrities have shared their unpleasant encounters which is coupled with strong demand for money, which results to impeding of vehicles, in case their demands are not met.
