2022 Sex-For-Role Scandal Made Me Fear My Career Was Over

Nigerian content creator Adebayo Ridwan Abedemi, popularly known as Isbae U, has opened up about the difficult period he faced in 2022 following a controversy involving sex-for-role allegations and leaked explicit videos. He revealed that the experience made him fear his career was coming to an end.

Speaking during an interview on The Morayo Show, Isbae U recounted how he reached out to comedian Mr Macaroni at the time, asking if it was the end of his career. He noted that one never truly knows how powerful people are until they turn their backs. He also observed that people who once commented positively switched to negative comments without considering what he was going through, explaining that this is why it is called the public, as everyone has an opinion.

According to him, he chose to focus on improving himself, getting better at his craft, and becoming a better person. He said he stepped back from sharing details about his personal life and concentrated on giving his audience entertainment and doing better.

When asked who he would like to interview next on his show, 'Curiosity Made Me Ask', he named United States President Donald Trump.

He said:

"2022 was a tough time for me. It was the first time I was going through something like that, and then I asked Mr Macaroni, 'Is this the end?' This is because you never know how powerful people are in your life until they turn their backs on you."

"People who always commented positively started commenting negatively without caring about whatever you are going through. That is why it is called the public; they all have an opinion."

"So, all I did was focus on doing better, getting better at my craft and becoming a better person. I focused on giving them entertainment."

"I stepped back from posting anything about my life, kept giving them entertainment, and focused on doing better."
