Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi is celebrating her daughter Dara's 16th birthday, reflecting on the challenges they have faced together this year.
Taking to her Instagram page, she shared a video of herself and Dara in the hospital, revealing that 2026 has been a difficult year for them.
Afolabi disclosed that a severe lupus flare led to multiple surgeries, but she praised her daughter for her strength throughout the ordeal. She described Dara as an amazing child who has been by her side through both sad and happy moments.
She wrote:
"Year 2026 has been tough 4us. Lupus flare came on so strong, leading to multiple surgeries, but Dara was stronger!
You grew on me, baby.
It's been you during sad and happy moments.
You're an amazing child.
