Embracing My Feminine Side Doesn't Make Me Less Of A Man – Charly Boy

Maverick singer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy Aka Areafada, has addressed years of speculation about his sexuality, dismissing critics and insisting that embracing his feminine side does not diminish his manhood.

In a social media post shared on Wednesday, he responded to those who have openly called him gay over the years.

He stated that for many Nigerians, the concept of masculinity remains outdated, adding that he is unbothered by public opinion. He also argued that embracing one's feminine side is about becoming more human, not less of a man.

He wrote:
"For years, many hv questioned my sexuality, some hv openly called me gay. Anything una like make una talk, because I know for many Nigerians, dey are still living under the rock.

Embracing ones feminine side isn't about becoming less of a man—it's about becoming more of a human being. It's about having access to the full spectrum of human experience: strength and vulnerability, logic and intuition, independence and connection.
