Nollywood Producer And Director Dimbo Atiya Is Dead

Award-winning Nollywood producer and director Dimbo Atiya has passed away.

The news of his demise was announced on Thursday, August 6, by actor and filmmaker Mofe Duncan, who expressed shock and devastation on social media.

Atiya, a native of Nasarawa State, was a prominent figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, known for his work on television series such as Halita, Sons of the Caliphate, and The Rishantes.

He won the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Award for Best Africa Magic Original Drama Series in 2022 for his work on Halita.

The producer and director was also recognized for his commitment to celebrating northern Nigerian culture in contemporary storytelling .

Dimbo studied professionally at the New York Film Academy and produced over 500 episodes of television and five feature films throughout his career.
