Popular Tinsel actress, Nkiru Kiki Omeili recently narrated her ordeal in the hands of hoodlums who broke into her car and removed valuable parts.
Omeili is listed as one of the 25 Hottest New Talents in Nollywood by the Nigerian Entertainment Today; and her repertory includes Lekki Wives, Married But Living Single and Footprints among others.
According to the pretty actress, “I went to see a friend and parked my car outside. On my return, I noticed that my trunk was partly opened, which was not the way I left it. I was dazed when I discovered that it had been ransacked and my glove compartment cleaned out.
Even the brainbox of my car had been removed,” she said. Omeili, one of the stars of Tinsel, the hugely popular Mnet series, further said that she promptly, got across to a friend who had introduced her to Mansard Insurance. Her words: “The incident happened on a Thursday and before the end of that day, the company sent me the claims form, which I filled. And by the following Monday, I got the Discharge Voucher that I also filled and sent back to them. On Tuesday, I got an alert from my bank that payment that will cover the cost of fixing my car had been made by the insurance firm. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised.
For me, that was really commendable.” The graduate of University of Lagos medical school said, “My shock stemmed from the fact that Mansard proved to be a refreshing difference in a society where mediocrity and inefficiency are the order of the day. And the fact that some of us see insurance as expensive, while in all fairness, the risks insurance helps to mitigate has proven unquantifiable"
