Dr. Charles C. Hackman Enthroned As Bishop In Fire City Chapel

The first weekend in November truly secured its place as the most significant season in the year 2019 not just for members of Fire City Chapel but also for the disability community in Ghana.

The jubilation, excitement, awe and impact from the consecration of Bishop Dr. Charles C. Hackman the night before was at its peak as invited guests trouped to Fire City Chapel for the second part of the ceremony on Sunday, 3^rd November, 2019.

The second and final day for the induction and consecration ceremony for Bishop Dr. Charles Hackman was not only a thanksgiving service to celebrate God’s goodness for the life of the Bishop, but also his enthronement which signified the final part of the consecration ceremony.

The ceremony of enthronement often takes place before or shortly after the Bishop assumes office and is signified by the newly consecrated Bishop being placed on a throne or seat as a mark of his authority.

The night before was certainly one to remember as Bishop Hackman was awarded two honorary Doctorate Degrees (in Divinity and Humanity) for his nationwide advocacy and assistance for persons with disability in Ghana.

Bishop Hackman’s contribution to the disability community for over eight (8) years through life-transforming projects and activities through the H4P Organization further earned him the Africa Nobles Award from the Calvary Cross Clergy Council and Bible Seminary. Known as the Voice of Ability on air for persons with disability, Bishop Hackman believes that when given equal opportunities, PWDs can excel and succeed in every endeavor of life.

The mantrac, ability in disability was in full display as students of the Dzorwulu Special School entreated guests to a wonderful choreography performance. The atmosphere was full of praise, worship and thanksgiving as guests sung and danced along to melodious tunes by the military band and the Fire City Chapel Praise team.

Present at the ceremony were the Bishops and Clergy from the Calvary Cross Clergy Council, Mrs. Diana Hopeson (Queen of gospel music in Ghana), Rev. and Mrs. Augustine Donkor, persons with disability, stakeholders in the disability community and members of Fire City Chapel.

Not only were guests entreated to a marvelous spectacle during the enthronement of Bishop Dr. Charles Hackman, but also watched video and live testimonials of the nationwide impact he has brought to education for special needs children.

Mr. Malik Yakubu, the H4P Northern Regional Correspondent conveyed his warmest appreciation from the Heads and students of Wa School of the Blind, Wa School for the Deaf and Wa Senior High School to Bishop Hackman and the H4P Organization for their philanthropic activities in these schools for the past 6 years.

Madam Ayishetu Ibrahim, the National President, Ghana Blind Union and District Director of Education, Wa East District testified about the surge and interest in educating children with disability after she was interviewed by Bishop Charles C. Hackman on his Helping Hand TV Show (the first of its kind in the country that throws the spotlight on the abilities of persons with disabilities). The myths and erroneous perceptions that persons with disability were a nuisance to society and would never amount to anything were demystified and parents who previously locked up their disabled children now brought them to school.

The Headmistress of Sekondi School for the deaf, Madam Favour Aflakpui commended H4P for their annual H4P National Inter-schools Disability Fun Games (the first of its kind in Ghana which for four years congregated over 3,000 special students from schools all over the country to compete in healthy sports competitions).

She recounted the anticipation and excitement with which the special students travelled from Sekondi to Accra to compete in the fun games.

Being an executive member of the Special Education Division in Ghana, she testified of the great impact the H4P organization has made in special education and entreated individuals, associations and organization to come on board and support H4P organization’s initiatives and projects.
