Director of Security at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) VVIP section, Hopeson Adorye has denied media reports that he has been sacked as the Airport security director.
Mr. Adorye’s statement is in reaction to a news item published by the Herald newspaper claiming he had been sacked.
According to the paper’s sources within government circles, Adorye’s removal was as a result of accusation that while serving as head of VVIP section of the KIA, he allowed every “Tom, Dick and Harry” to use the privileged VVIP section; a security zone managed by National Security Secretariat, for their private travels abroad.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” on Monday, he said such fake news should be treated with the contempt it deserves.
Mr Adorye who recently tied the knot with gospel singer Gifty Osei reacting to the report said he is on vacation leave and would resume on January 28, 2019.
“I have not been sacked because am sure If indeed I have been sacked, you would have heard and seen by now a sack letter by now. I want to state categorically that I have not been sacked but if Herald thinks what they reported is true, they should produce my sack letter.”
Mr. Adorye has therefore called on the newspaper to either retract the publication or apologize to him.
