Economic Advisor at the Office of the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Gideon Boako, has said the free Senior High School policy, apart from increasing enrollment at the secondary education and reducing the burden of Ghanaians has also attracted more investors abroad into the country.

He said a lot of investors abroad have expressed their willingness to invest in the Ghanaian economy with the belief that the policy will increase the literacy rate that creates conducive atmosphere for investments which will be a significant tool for the rapid socio-economic development of the country.

Dr. Boako, said this in an interview with the host of Otec FM’s morning shows “Nyansapo”, Captain Koda, on Wednesday, October 24, 2108, from London in the United Kingdom, attending Ghana Investment and Opportunities Summit, with the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The two day summit, with the theme, “Mobilizing for Ghana Beyond Aid”, was organized by the Ghana High Commission in the UK and the Ghana Investors Promotional Center (GIPC) and attended by business executives, industry captains and investors.

“We believe that the implementation of the free senior high school policy by the New Patriotic Party will afford the opportunity to a lot of people to climb the literacy ladder. It means that it will be easy for us to recruit and work with people with minimum high school graduates, a situation that will help us in investing in both material and human resources , Dr. Boako quoting an investor during the summit.

Dr. Boako said the vice president who led the Ghanaian team was praised by the participants for his tireless effects in keeping the country’s ailing economy back on track, and the respect accorded to him explains the high confidence they have in the head of Economic Management Team in Ghana.

The vice president was accompanied by the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BOG), Dr. Ernest Addison and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investors Promotional Center (GIPC), Yofi Grant.
