Osudoku Aadegbor Festival Launched

THE CHIEFS and people of Osudoku Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region have launched the 2nd edition of the annual Aadegbor Festival.

Aadegbor Festival is a celebration by the people of Osudoku usually in the month of September every year. It is aimed at renewing the sense of oneness of the people. It also provides distinctive chances for reunions, and bondage with families and ancestors, among others.

Aadegbor Ngmogmowuyaa Kwesi Animle VI, paramount chief of the Osudoku Traditional Area, who launched the 2018 celebration of the Aadegbor Dzehayem at the traditional council, said this year's celebration would be unique from the maiden one last year.

He advised that “this festival must unite all the children of this soil, both home and abroad because in unity lies strength for development.”

Aadegbor Animle VI seized the opportunity to entreat any disputing families in the area to smoke the peace pipe and pool resources to be less dependent on the government.

The paramount chief noted that Osudoku had numerous chieftaincy and land disputes which were affecting the development of the area. He attributed the lack of development in the area to litigation.

He pleaded with all parties to embrace sympathy, peace and unity in the interest of development.

“If other traditional areas are developing through festivals, we from Osudoku can do better because I believe and have confidence in the children of this soil,” he asserted.

He extended heartfelt invitation to honest investors to the festival.

Activities for the 2018 Aadegbor Dzehayem Festival include canoe race and climbing of the Osudoku Mountain to visit their ancestral home.
