Dear H.E. John Dramani Mahama

Dear H.E. John Dramani Mahama
21.05.2018 LISTEN

Greetings from Binduri.
When the wooden ant gathers sticks on its head, it carries them. I have read with sumptuous satisfaction from your page last night your definite response to the myriad of requests of you to declare to lead Ghana again. Many are we who persistently called on you after our party's elections 2016 defeat to run for President again come elections 2020. We were worried with your continuous silence on your political future and at some point I met folks who were genuinely asking questions such as for how long must feverish birds tremble in their nest before their keeper?

But at long last you have honored our request; you have promised the good people of Ghana that you won't disappoint them and we would take you by your words knowing very well that you're a true man of your words; very honest, though your honesty contributed to our Electoral defeat; nonetheless, it pays to be honest. Below is an excerpt of the *good news* news I saw on your Facebook wall yesterday:

"To you the teeming supporters and sympathizers calling and requesting me to declare my intentions for the future, I wish to assure you today, that as a servant-leader, I have listened to your calls and reflected. I will not disappoint you even as we await the publication of the party’s guidelines for selecting a new leader".

Your Excellency, I must confess that of all the speeches you released or delivered after election 2016, none has been more heartwarming, so welcoming, so inspiring, so demanding, so expected, and so refreshing than this your decision to run for President again in 2020. I wish to also categorically state without contradiction and provocation that, in Ghana today, there's no man, no woman, no body, who is more qualified to serve the good people of the NDC and Ghana than you, H.E John Dramani Mahama.

Anyone can disagree with me and that is their opinion of which they are entitled to. Besides, there are as many opinions as there are men. But I know I have stated the obvious fact.

Your Excellency, Ghanaians miss you dearly, and they have come to the realization that indeed, all that glitters is not gold. They have realized that a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. They have now appreciated the adage that, the best "President is the one who will never be a President" They have realized that they have been short changed and can't wait any longer to right the wrongs the committed in 2016.

As William Butler Yeats once predicted in1818, after world War II, in his poem entitled the "Second Coming", some revelation is really at hand in Ghana, and it's your second coming, it is so powerful, irresistible, unstoppable, and it is as formless as running water. It is non-negotiable, because things has fallen apart and the center is not holding. The falcon is no longer hearing the falconer anymore in Ghana today, as the best are lacking all conviction whilst the worst in Ghana today are filled with passionate intensity.

Your Excellency, Ghanaians have now really realized that the GITMO 2 did not pose a security threat after all; that constructing roads was not bad at all, that building hospitals was not bad at all, that building several chip compounds was not bad at all; that constructing water treatment plants was not bad at all; that procuring AMERI, KarPower and other power plants was not bad at all; that constructing the Tamale International Airport wasn't bad at all.

Similarly the constructing the Tamale Teaching Hospital wasn't bad at all; constructing 200 Community Day Senior High Schools was not bad at all; that constructing the Volta Regional Airport was not bad at all, that constructing the Legon Teaching hospital was not bad at all; that expanding the Kumasi International airport was not bad at all, that expanding the Kotoka International Airport wasn't bad at all; the list goes on and on! Infrastructural projects? Anyone can name them, you have got something to boast of. Ghanaians are really proud of you.

Your Excellency, Ghanaians thought because you were consistently criticizing, naming, shaming and punishing officials of your government who were found to be compromising your zero tolerance for corruption fight, you were corrupt. They've now realized that the man who was always shooting on roof tops that he is incorruptible is indeed the Chief priest of corruption; a corruption clearing agent. He purposely appointed Special Prosecutor, Papa Alamisi to supervise him and his elephant size appointees to loot our resources. We now have a looting syndicate presided over by Nana Akuffo Addo. He and his appointees are as busy as gutter rats at midnight eating garbage cans; they are not paying attention to anything. Scandals everyday, scandals everywhere and wanton sleaze is their sur-name now. We cannot continue to go this route, the nonsense must stop! Things must change and Ghana must work again. Anti-corruption crusaders miss you so much!

Your Excellency, it is now obviously crystal clear that, you never run a family and friends government, and that Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP biggies who are like congregants of mother Teresa are the Alpha and the Omega of family, friends, associates and concubines government, who are always quicker to despoil their subjects than govern well. Nana Addo like Napoleon who advised all animals to avoid sleeping on beds has found it comfortable donning suit and drinking whisky. A classic case of convenience politics or better yet some animals are more equal than others? Governance as you go! Anything goes.

Your Excellency, Teacher and Nursing Trainees really miss you so much and they can't wait to campaign for you in 2020. They've now realized that your policy of replacing their allowances with student loans and constructing numerous health facilities is the best way out for them as it guarantees them of their employment after school. That policy of yours is a super one, classic and out of this world, thinking outside the box. They are now treated with disdain by the current regime, their once upon a time best friend. They say JDM 2020 is non-negotiable and that they will show Nana like the proverbial frog who never knew there are two types of water until it fell in hot water.

Your Excellency, drivers miss you. Today in Ghana, fuel prices can be increased trice a week. They are more expensive than blood tonic. Drivers are now working for fuel filling stations. The supersonic hikes of the prices of petroleum products has brought unprecedented hardship to the masses. Nothing is affordable in Ghana anymore.

Your Excellency, unemployed graduates cannot wait to campaign for you in 2020. They have now realized that your YES fund initiative, EXIMBANK, REP, Masloc etc financial assistance for young entrepreneurs is the only way out to solving the unemployment canker as opposed to the NPP promise of securing them public sector jobs. A vibrant private sector is the best way to create jobs. That's preposterous. They cannot be serious. I hear Nana Akufo-Addo is introducing NABCO, and that it would employ 100,000 unemployed graduates for three years. Your Excellency, NABCO is a scam. The entire annual budgetary allocation for NABCO is GHS50million, and one wonders how 50million can create 100,000 jobs. Magic? Because we have charcoal in our heads we will believe them.

Your Excellency, Freight forwarders, spare parts dealers and investors miss you so much. You made Ghana, the business hub of West Africa, you created a business friendly environment, always available for foreign investors. They were never charged gate fees by your able staffers, neither were they charged with cash for seats. They cannot wait to campaign for you in 2020.

Your Excellency, I can go on and on but let me be brief as I need to consume some fresh pito with the gods of Binduri; you're the best thing that has ever happened to Ghana after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, you are like water, you've not got an enemy, you are a bold leader who never hesitates to swim against the tides, very humble, decisive and reserved, a captain, leader and legend you are. You are a quintessential gentleman with pearls of wisdom. Your style of leadership is admired by many including your enemies, you must run for 2020, and you are Ghana’s surest bet in elections 2020.

Your Excellency, you are very popular and loved. The great numbers you record during the NDC'S UNITY Walks is evident of what I'm saying. The hard truth is that Ghana currently have two Presidents! The great acceptance you record nationally is the reason why Nana Akufo-Addo is embarking on his needless regional tours. He's scared but nothing can save him in 2020!

As the failing elephant continues to goof like blind horses in empty barns, as they continue to showcase their legendary super incompetence, as they continue lying shamelessly, as they continue creating, looting and sharing, one thing is certain; your second coming!

I will tell you more reasonable reasons why you are Ghana's surest bet in my next letter but before then, let me reiterate that, in Ghana today, there's no man, no woman, nobody, who's more qualified to serve us than you! Everybody can brag, but no one knows what it takes to do the job until you are sitting beside the desk! Anyone can grant radio interviews but nobody knows what it takes to do the job until you are sitting beside the desk! Anyone can Facebook and twit but no one knows what it takes to do the job until you're sitting beside the desk! Anyone can criticize but no one knows what it takes to do the job until you're sitting beside the desk. As a former President, you've seen it all, you proven again and again, that you understand governance. Ghanaians from all walks of life, across the length and breadth of this country will arise and join your cause to make Ghana work again.

Thank you.
Yours forever,
Assibid Dauda
