Tables Before Killer Enemies: A Numb Church In A Wicked World!

I woke up yesterday only to be greeted with another robbery case somewhere in Accra. This was the morning after I'd heard of a similar case at a drinking spot just behind my house which saw the owner; an old woman receive several lashes on her back. I have often said that there can be no limits to what wickedness the depraved soul can issue and so though I empathise with the victims, I am the least shocked at the recent heights of folly reported out there. Interestingly, my quiet time for the day saw me read the popular Psalm 23; " the Lord is my Shepherd"...and all those beautiful ensuing texts that would make any want to make the Lord His Shepherd. Yet there came this particular verse resounding quite louder than the cacophonous drum lines from rehearsals for 6th March parade going on in most schools, and this was immediately after reading the news on the robbery: "Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. "

So many times this has been our prayer when we think about envious folks around; at our work places, schools and even churches. Well, the scripture came with series of questions which actually have inspired a good sense of urgency for the salvation of others rather than selfishly sitting on that table alone!..One of such had been; " what if these enemies after a table of a GHC 200,000 is set before me, trail to shoot me and take away that money? By the way, this is in no way, an over rationalisation of a spiritual blessing lest you also fall victim to charges of over spiritualising practical things!..."the word of God is a two edged sword" is still applicable in such interpretations inspired to an end men would be edified and God, glorified!

That said, the second question was why really would God set a table before you in the presence of a genuinely hungry enemy humanly speaking when you are partly to blame for his hunger?..to make mockery of the person??...or to get them reconciled back to God?...if our blessings ought to be for the Salvation of men, then we would be in error should we hold on to those selfish interpretation of the table that is set by a Good God in a wicked word!

...Truth is, what I refer to as selfish interpretations, are those self serving interpretations of the word of God that further fuels vilifications and repulsion against the church and the things of God in this current age!...for instance, how do we expect to win a hungry lost by selling ''things of salvation'' if really they be, to enrich ourselves and families only to tag it a table set by God in the presence of enemies??...how do you a Christian hold on to so much as may be needed and yet wouldn't give to your hungry neighbour inside or outside the church, nor would you give to the propagation of the Gospel without showmanship and yet when these accumulation we call a set table, serve a stumbling block for others to hate us rather than win them to the Lord, would it not be hypocritical to tag them enemies by our table? ..Maybe I don't get it but why don't you continue reading to see to what end the Holy spirit inspired this line of thinking??...

Watch out for many more wicked days on earth!...Only when the darkness gets thicker would the light of God shine brighter and brighter!...I am not a doomsayer!...neither at all am I a pessimist but one thing is True!..and that is every Word of God which shall come to pass!...Peoples of the world in high and sometimes low places unfortunately, argue and foolishly instigate many against Preachers and the things of God which are often confirmed by the issues of life!..and turn around to question their most trusted so ignorant and vain worldly leaders who are puffed up with limited knowledge they acquire in schools but cannot utilise them to alleviate the plight of many poor because they lack the power to do Good which only comes from a Good God!

..We are to blame!...We Christians are to blame!...for the daylight robbery!..for the many senselessness of humanity with impunity!...we share in the blame if really we are the light of the world!..It is true that darkness can never comprehend a light from God...If we shone our light without hypocrisy, would we see such darkness upon our land??...God has said if we arise, then would He by us, save the blackness and wickedness of men!..Isaiah 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

Every single day I walk pass a brewery!...full of strong yet idle young men!..a breeding point for criminals not alien to most parts of our country!...The Police and security services are aware of such breeding points!...yet lack the Moral Power to do what is Good!...I walk pass a group of boys who smoke weed and other drugs without regard for any passing through!...any sooner, these guys should be on the streets attacking well meaning people if they are not already!...why??...like myself, many who cling to the knowledge of God lack the Power of God to cast away the foolishness of human hearts!...We are so numb after being fed so much with Gospels!...Mercy!

..Christianity has been to the modern day smart people, the catalyst to all earthly promotions that set tables before us in the presence of enemies who unfortunately for us, wouldn't sit aloof, but would with guns and unthinkable weaponry, attack us to exercise their displeasure!

Necessity therefore is laid upon us to tell people about the Love of God lavished on an undeserving creatures like us time and time after!... To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Christ Jesus!

See, it is never about COP Kofi Boakye, Ambrose Dery, IGP or even the respected Akuffo-Addo if really our problems we face would be solved!..And this is no cheap opportunity for past incompetent folks to chance in and vilify the most capable team in our political landscape!...This is a diagnosis of the problems we face that so transcends the wildest of human wisdom!...These are the things God hides from the strong and reveal to the feeble!...he hides from the wise of this world and reveal to the foolish by the foolishness of humility to acknowledge the Spirit and Words of God.

The systems of this worlds are failing daily just as God has said in His words!..if we are wise, we'll take refuge in this good God!

We'll cast our minds back like Jesus admonishes us to do!..THINGS WERE NOT THIS BAD IN THE BEGINNING!...it wasn't so!...Which means God didn't make things bad for men to suffer and live in fears!...God never created men to see evil!....in fact whatever God created in the beginning was Good and worthy of His blessing!....Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

..In the recorded story of Job, Job lived happily until the thief came to steal, Kill and destroy but God has always restored to His people the life the devil takes away if they called on Him!

It is time the world's called on this God!...the growing depravity would only worsen by day!...so would the Glory of God shine brighter and better if His people called by His name would arise and do His bidding!...it is only in doing His bidding that He would cause us to abide in His mighty shadows!...away from the noisome pestilence that characterise these perilous times!...It is time for the church to take its rightful place as the ONLY SOLUTION to the cankers of our society!...Only then would the governments of the day receive sanity to do good!
