Let Poverty Lose The Game By Caring For Someone

Let Poverty Lose The Game By Caring For Someone

Life is no longer a battle ground for the devil. He has already lost and he knows it because God is on our side. So why will the devil still battle? Certainly he is not wrestling with us now with the aim to win. He is a condemned person who is just playing a 'mortal kombat' game with lives with no expected crown for a victory for him. He is frustrating people with his game of poverty and hardship.

The devil's new personality is hardship and he is really gaming humanity in homes, on the streets, in the neighborhood from continent to continent across the world.

Akwasi Antwi woke up to see his best friend lying down dead. They conversed up to about 11pm on the eve of the day of his demise. He shown no sign of illness. This is the friend Akwasi had been perching ever since he lost his dad from his early teenage years till his late twenties at the University now. This friend who provides shelter for him is gone. As native Africans will do, nobody else but the devil was accused as the cause of the friend's death. Later on, all eyes turned to Akwasi; "why didn't you sleep with him on the same bed that night? ".

In finding answers to the death, people seem to put more weight on Akwasi's hand than the devil's. Akwasi is made more deviler than the devil. For an innocent Akwasi to be called a Killer, it is a shame on poverty.

Poverty must have thought he won the day; but he is shamed. If not for poverty, Akwasi would be nowhere near the friend that night to be pointed at; he would be living happily with his separated family. If this landed Akwasi in prison, poverty caused it.

This is one example of the dishonour of poverty. Poverty and hardship lands a lot of innocent lives in hell. Where are the rescuing hands?

Hardship lures little girls into the bedroom of young and old men. Mostly, they go to make themselves comfortable just to secure one 'less square meal' for the day. They end up being sexually abused. This sinful sex becomes part of them with time. Who tempted and led them into sinful sex? Nobody other than hardship.

Abandoned street children are easily lured into armed robbery and stealing. Goons promise them food, shelter and clothing to lure them into indecent acts. Robbery is an aid to many killings in Ghana. If one street child is remembered today, a set of robberies is prevented tomorrow.

Hardship does not live with only the poor, it can catch up and play his game with anybody at all. Hence, we have to activate our senses to sense hardship in the eyes of people at the workplace, homes, churches and everywhere so we can go to their rescue.

I am making a solemn pledge and I pray you will be touched to do same; As God keeps blessing me, I will do the best I can to care for the needy to game and shame poverty. Let us clothe them, let us give them food, let us build hostels for them to occupy freely. Let us put our bank savings to good use by caring for the needy.

God is on our side and He has saved us only because we have accepted and believe in His Son Jesus Christ. The will of Jesus is for us to love one another.

If you care for someone; you help the person from being tempted to sin and you have done the will of God.

Please do not ignore hardship. Care for someone in need now. God bless you.
