MR. RANSFORD Agyapong, former Member of Parliament for Suhum constituency, in the Eastern Region has led an American based Non - Governmental Organization (NGO), Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated to donate items worth over a thousand Ghana cedis to schools in Suhum.
The former Member of Parliament had met Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated at a seminar and upon deliberation by the NGO, in accompanied with the Suhum Municipal Chief Executive, Margret Darko donated school bags, clothes and other stationary to Islamic Basic Schools and others.
Mr Agyapong briefing the media after the donation noted that, due to his long term relationship with the NGO for extended support in the constituency, he was able to lobby for the bags over one pieces.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, a worldwide NGO made up of African Americans which seeks to improve the living standards of Black Africans through the provision of some basic educational needs, construction of potable water for under developed areas and supporting the needy in society.
Dr Carl Bampoe, the President of the Fraternity on his side, assured that, the group's further support to the municipality.
He said, the former MP has been able to convince beyond all reasonable doubt that the relationship between the NGO and the constituency shall last and that Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated shall put in more support.
The beneficial schools who received the items on the schools behalf, expressed their profound gratitude to the group and most especially the former MP, Hon Ransford Agyepong for coming to the aid of the needy in the Municipality.
At Suhum Islamic Basic School, a zongo chief representative took the opportunity to advise the students to take advantage of this kind gesture and put their heads inside their books so that they can also enjoy the free SHS by his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo.
The Staff of the Islamic basic school also expressed their appreciation to the group, Hon Ransford Agyepong and the MCE for coming to support the school.
