Tourism Just Got Better In Volta Region As Akatsi North District Gets Crocodile Resort

Joy, knows no bound when one’s expectations are met with rain of reassured showers on the other side of the ugly teeth of poverty that predominated your day’s activities for ages.

The Chiefs and people of the Akatsi North District of the VoltaRegion gathered on boxing day to pre-launch an ecotourism crocodile resort project being constructed by the visionary District Chief Executive, Hon. Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu.

The colorful and unprecedented event saw scores of tourists and citizens from all walks of life, graced by cultural troupes from Ave Dakpa and Ave Havi. The guest of honor for the occasion, the Volta Regional Minister Hon. Dr. Archibald Letsa was very thrilled with the feat chalked by the defunct district these few months.

The ceremony which was thought to be a pre-launch event turned out to be a massive picnic and carnival as the huge crowd became uncontrollable.

The Chiefs could also not hide their joy as they take turns to display their rich traditional dance, NegbaNegba to the admiration of the guest and all presence; in fact, a surprise package for the festive mood.

The ecotourism facility includes live crocodile watch with its beautiful scenery, the colourful sanctuary of birds and butterflies in the serene atmosphere. When completed would house restaurants, recreational park, children’s’ park and a resting place for tourist and travelers. It would have a cultural village where tourists would be entertained with cultural dance and the display of artifacts.

The DCE in his usual jolly mood thanked the chiefs and people of Akatsi North district for exemplifying their love for the district by supporting him throughout his seven months in office.

He continued that, he is overwhelmed by the massive support and advice he is enjoying and the exhibition of communal spirit by the chiefs and people of Akatsi North district.

He stressed on the need for peace and unity so as to remain unbendable towards the achievement of a greater success in the near future.

He commuted that, the Akatsi North district is a debt-ridden district but richly endowed with natural resources. He said, he is committed to wisely exploiting these resources for better use so as to change the destiny of the district from indebtedness to riches.

He continued to enumerate some ten projects he had accomplished, some ten projects to be commissioned the next day and some eleven projects that would be awarded before the year ends within his seven months in office.
