Homosexuality: Why The World Is Against This Practice

News concerning HOMOSEXUALITY seem to have gained popularity and attention pretty much in the media for the past years now. Questions arise from why religious bodies, societies and families are against such practice. Homosexuals basically ask one question and that is “why are you against same sex marriage”? When you talk about homosexuality, is it the sex aspect you consider or the love that exist amongst them? It is naturally wrong in either way. Having affection or intimacy for the same sex can’t be regarded as being normal. My caption of “why the world is against it” only takes into consideration majority interest as far as my country used as a sample for my analysis is concerned.

Christianity is the largest religion in Ghana , with approximately 71.2% of the country's population being members of various Christian denominations as of 2010 census. The religious composition of Ghana in the first post-independence population census of 1960 was 25 percent Muslim, 23 percent traditionalist, 41 percent Christian, and the rest (about 9 percent) other. A breakdown of the 1960 population according to Christian sects showed that 25 percent were Protestant (non-Pentecostal); 13 percent, Roman Catholic; 2 percent, Protestant (Pentecostal); and 1 percent, Independent African Churches. The distribution has taken a tremendous turn with a greater percentage now as Christians and Muslims than those of the traditional religion. Regardless of one’s religious affiliation, Ghana is a country whose citizenry exhibit moral values which are quite enviable by other nationals and strongly believes in the natural principle of one man to one woman or simply a man to a woman relationship. Biblically, calling anything marriage is not marriage until it follows what has being stipulated and called the natural order of doing things. Logically, no he goat mates with another he goat. The purpose of mating is for fun and procreation. To replace a lost generation with another generation is the purpose for marriage and procreation.

Scientifically, individuals of the same sex who get attracted to each other and marry are not capable of producing an offspring because, to be able to procreate or get pregnant entails the sperm must fertilize the egg during sexual intercourse. When a man marries a man, none of them will be able to produce an egg during their sexual pleasure, same applies to a lady married to another lady, no one is gifted with Sperms either. Apart from the few points raised above, there are other notable reasons why a greater percentage of the world’s population today are against same sex marriage, I will expatiate on four of these reasons for the sake of time.

First of all, it Offends God. Anything which violates morality is offensive in the sight of God and Homosexuality is one aspect. Anyone who believes in God and his existence will desist from this act. In the book of Genesis, when God created man and saw how lonely man was, he made for the man, a woman to comfort and keep him company. In other words, God in his own wisdom made the woman the man’s companion. It however becomes entirely wrong for a man to keep another man as his companion and the lady to do same.

Secondly, being homosexual is regarded a psychiatric condition similar to incest (sexual intercourse between siblings or family members), pedophilia( sexual attraction of a full grown man towards a prepubescent child who hasn’t developed secondary sex characteristics) and a bestiality ( sexual intercourse between a man and an animal). If we can justify same sex marriage, then I guess we have no logical reason to stop or undermine the practice of incest, bestiality and pedophilia.

In addition to the above mentioned, Homosexuality does not create a family but a naturally sterile union. Unlike the natural union between a man and woman who easily procreates through sexual intercourse to bring forth an offspring, same sex marriage guarantees procreation through sterile. The “spouses” wanting a child must only circumvent nature by adopting costly and artificial means or employ surrogates.

Lastly, same sex marriage always denies a child either a father or a mother. If successfully through surrogating child birth becomes possible, it additionally denies the child the opportunity of having a father or a mother. If a man marries another man, who naturally qualifies to be the child’s mother? In the same domain, if a woman marries another woman, who qualifies to be called the child’s father?

It is clearly true that, Homosexuality or same sex marriage activist and anyone who supports it can’t really attach any valid reason or importance to this practice except the undoubted personal gratification derived by individuals who engage in this act. For the love of God and for future generations, I dedicate this write up to the world to gradually erase the mentality of same sex marriage laws and the practice of homosexuality.
