Subjective Instead Of Being Objective Democratic State

Subjective Instead Of Being Objective Democratic State
17.05.2017 LISTEN

"My say, my thought", my slogan as an objective activist and societal radical. I am so concerned with economic and social change. I believe this is the only way our nation can accomplish her goal.

Unfortunately, many sectors in our country are not improving. The traditional methods have gotten a seat and they fail to see the necessity to revamp these sectors to help our country achieve higher productivity.

Some citizens with their subjective attitudes and decisions are pulling the nation backwards instead of taking objective judgement for birthing results. They are always baffling with perception and factual basis for decisions.

"Don't expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong"!

These sadistic democratic ways of leading and performing our duties needs to be gotten rid of!!!

Being Subjective is when one is lacking in reality or substance. It is more of moral judgment. It is a statement that is based on emotions, feelings, perception and one's beliefs. There is factual basis for comments and statement for that matter.

One philosopher argued that; the existence of human beings is the primary object of social science, many things related to humans are subjective instead of objective.

Since 1992 when Ghana adopted the democratic system of government, we have been using subjective ways of doing things and we need to change our style.

The subjectiveness of our democratic way of ruling is hindering our Economic Success. We need to change some of our principles of actions.

In fact, there are some sectors we need to apply objective actions.

Being Objective is not influenced by emotions or prejudice and is based on observed fact. In objective principles; there is no factual basis of comments or statement for that matter. It's high time we adopted this ideology because one's own beliefs, emotions, perceptions of doing things are becoming worse and it is retarding our growth as a democratic nation.

STUDENTS POLITICS
Recently, students have become subjective in their beliefs, emotion and perception subjecting their students’ politics to the control of political parties. Constitutions drafted to govern students clearly condemns such acts but continually, laws are ignored and honor is found in behaving unlawfully.

The case of the national NUGS is saddening. It is alleged that, it was operated by NPP when they were in power, and just as government changed, the NDC also took over as if it was a complement to the power of the government of Ghana.

Today, the national NUGS stands divided into two. With politics acting like white markings that separate lanes on asphalt road. The "NDC NUGS" and "NPP NUGS".

"I believe we fail when we don't recognize we are failing, and success could start only when failing stops" ~ @torchesamuel.

Does the national NUGS have future at all?
aah!! Shame is an understatement.
A man once said, "even as it appears that students’ forms about 20% of our population, they are 100% of our future. And now here is the future; 100% of leaders who will always be under the control of higher authority!

Students have lost power to work within their own political therein.

Let’s remember what Abraham Lincoln said; "a house divided against itself cannot stand". Let’s pour oil on trouble waters by fighting against the spin divided.

Sadly, the roots are more like the fruits of the national. It has extended to campuses, and my campus UDS NAVRONGO CAMPUS can't be left out. Pushing "Caucus agenda" has become an ill-will and malice in this tertiary institution and its effects can't be describing.

"As our case is new, we must think and act anew".

Students will never move forward if they don't restrict their political jurisdictions to only student’s politics.

Let’s all be objective to put an end to partisan politics in our student’s organization, right from the national level and in our various tertiary institutions.

EDUCATIONAL SECTORS
Our educational sectors may be facing one of its trying risks which is the free education.

It may be a successful one when there are critical checks and supervisions. It may also be a curse if it is constructed as it is now, at the basic schools.

Our education is improving but not on a faster pace as “galamsey”, betting, cybercrime, child labor and major factors that restricts our youth from enjoying their right to education.

The number of unqualified teachers employed in the schools are becoming abundant. How can our basic schools achieve success with ineligible acts?

How can the nation eradicate poverty when protocols are being given to underserving children who are from rich families i.e. scholarships being given to already rich but average students?

Headmasters violating laws by charging students with unapproved fees.

In fact, educational directors should be objective to their role as supervisors and monitors of our educational sectors very well because we cannot achieve uprightness for doing wrong.

PUBLIC SECTORS
Ghana's public sector is not doing well.
I think we have had these corruption jumping on our necks for some time now.

Maybe we should transform corruption from a mere misdemeanor to a felony crime in order to scare public servants in joining the growth of the canker.

"Patriotism is the conviction that, your country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it" and this demands eschewing negative attitudes toward work.

SECURITY SERVICE
Security in Ghana is taking too slow because of the fear they face in performing their duties.

Police and army personnel's always want to impress sitting Governments and that is the main reasons why when a new Government sets in, supporters of that government takes the nation in their own hands.

JUDICIAL SERVICE
The appointed Chief Justice Ms. Sophia Akuffo as she has spent many years in the sector, is expected to objectively exhibit some maturity and set legacy to her service. I believe her relationship with the president is not going to destruct her of doing her work independently.

The judicial service needs technological ways of keeping files of trial cases and judgement records of cases for easy references, it will also increase transparency.

The media and everyone would get the chance to access those documents online when needed.

The situation of keeping our judicial documents in a hardcopy (docket) form is retarding the service's progress.

Electronic gadgets should be accessible for Judges. On touching buttons of the computer, the judge will be able to turn pages of a case records, turn the pages of the documents, video record the evidence of the witness and keep the record of the arguments advance by the counsel, hunt for the case reference and citation of different decisions from the electronic journal and on conclusion of the hearing of the case deliver his order or judgment.

We are expecting the appointed CJ to upgrade the Judicial Service even to the lower courts.

As H.E Nana Akuffo Addo said during his remarkable speech; " I expect discipline, fairness, integrity and continuing modernization of the Judicial activities to be hallmark of her tenure as the Chief Justice".

It is time for her to proof her legacy to the service and be objective as chief Justice.

"The rule of law should not be a slogan but an operating principle for development of our state".

Being a lawyer before becoming a professional Judge is something the CJ should reconsider.

It shouldn't be that; someone becomes a lawyer before he becomes a judge.

Judicial Training Institutes should be open to those who have the passionate for the work. If only the person is a graduate, he should be allowed to apply and train to become a professional Judge.

Let’s separate the two and enjoy the passion that comes with it.

The Quota to the Law school should be increase from 250.

Also there are less court houses, less judges and likewise their conditions of service are very bad.

Conclusively;
"Success is the results of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence"- Colin Powel.

Ghana will not be a good country for any of us to live in, unless we make it a good place for all of us to live in.

We need our nation with the wisdom of experience. But we must not let Ghana grow old in spirit of democracy.

"Government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish" with objective way of doing things.

"Let us all take more responsibility, not only for ourselves and our families but for our communities and our country”. - Bill Clinton.
