Ejura (Ash), Mar 22, GNA - The immediate past Vice President of the Ghana Baptist Convention, the Reverend Dr. Nii Amoo-Darku, has raised concern about the excessive noise making at Christian worship centres and said this has become a health hazard.
The blaring of loud speakers and other noisy equipment during worship, he warned could be detrimental to the health of the worshippers and needed to stop.
'Why should anybody create health problems for people who, God wants us to reach out to with his message of hope and salvation', he queried.
The Rev Dr. Amoo-Darko was addressing the 29th annual refresher course, retreat and business meeting of the Convention's Ministers Conference, held at Ejura in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality.
He stated that the nuisance of noise-making should not be confused with spirituality.
He therefore invited his colleague ministers of the gospel to take steps to reduce the noise level in the church.
'Experiencing the transforming power of the Holy Spirit' was the theme chosen for the three-day meeting.
The Rev Dr. Amoo-Darko urged the church to fearlessly speak against all social ills, holding back the progress of the nation.
It should provide strong leadership to purge the society of anything evil, undignified and morally reprehensible, he added.
He encouraged Christians to mirror Christ-like qualities to become good example to the rest of the society.
The Rev Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana, applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the decision to build the national cathedral and described it as, a right step.
He called on everybody to give their full backing to the successful completion of project.
The Rev Mark Nti Frimpong, President of the Conference, asked that Christians prayed unceasingly to God for his continued gift of peace, unity and stability.
